Organ 19
While we were waiting for the replacement hoist, all the bits were laid out in the Church. It has been said that an organ the right size for a church will occupy at least a third of the seating area if laid out. If that is so, then we will be adequately provided.
Many of the parts are very heavy and bulky, and took a great deal of manipulation to get them up to the chamber.
Some of the pipes are visible along with ducting to carry the wind and some of the boards that hold the pipes in the right position on their soundboards. The ochre coloured pieces of wood at the back of the picture are the last remains of the old organ.
