Tour of the Church (Part 12)
Turning around, we see another Crucifix. This was carved by Tim Perkins, who was a loyal and faithful member of the parish from its beginning. He had a distinguished career as a maxillo-facial surgeon and was also a very talented wood-worker. The Crucifix which now is on the West wall of St Gregory’s was originally made for the first St Patrick’s at Duston; and when the permanent church was built there, it was moved to St Mary’s Middle School in Grange Road. With the reorganisation of schools, and all middle schools closing, it was brought to St Gregory’s and now faces the priest as he stands at the Altar.
