Tour of the Church (Part 11)
Above the Tabernacle is the principal Crucifix of the church. It stands above the Altar reminding us that the celebration of Mass is the making present of the offering of Christ made on the Cross. Here Jesus streches out his arms in love for the whole of the world; his embrace enfolds all people in his gentle love. The sign of the Cross is the basic sign of Christ; the sign of His love for us, and the sign which we make to show our love for Him and to re-commit ourselves to Him.
